Wild Things

Wild Things come in wide variety of weights (including 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 and 3/8 ounce sizes), colours (Green head, Black head and Red head) and appeal to a variety of fresh and saltwater species.

All but the two smaller Dreamfish Wild Things have a rounded head design to help them deflect off the bottom, rocks and timber. Whether you fish them through timber, rocks, weeds, under docks and jetties or anywhere else that claims normal lures, you can be confident that your Dreamfish Wild Thing is much less snag resistant than most other lures.

Competition anglers will love the fact that they can cover water quickly, and at any depth of water they choose when using a Wild thing. Keeping a Wild Thing on one or two of their rods, anglers can fish anywhere from the surface to the deepest water they can fish, making it one of the most versatile reaction lures available.

How To Use Wild Things

Wild Things are ideal in many fishing situations, regardless of whether the fish are shut down or not, and are very easy to use.

Wild Things can be used with a variety of retrieves styles and speeds, in all types of water and at all depths in any column of water. Looking for a highly versatile lure? Look no further than the Wild Thing!

When fish are sulking and not keen to bite, cast your Wild Thing close in to cover and slow roll the Wild Thing out. Remember, it’s times like these that you really need to go SLOW! Using a lightweight Wild Thing will naturally sink slower than a heavier one. Bump your Wild Thing into where fish are hiding and work it slowly. Have confidence in the appeal of your Wild Thing when fishing under these conditions.

Wild Things excel in warm clear water conditions when fished around cover. Wild Things with willow blades work best in clear water and under clear skies, by using a steady but reasonably quick retrieve.

In dirtier water, Wild Things work best using the larger Nickel Colorado blades that pump out fish attracting vibration. The heads of the Wild Thing in the above colours will help reflect available in light. The same can be said for the Grubs in the various colours. Contrast and reflection of available light in dirtier water is often the key.

In dirtier water, work your Wild Things slowly, having complete confidence that the pulsing vibration, natural feel and flash of your Wild Thing will catch you fish. For even greater appeal, add some of your favourite scent to the plastic and hang on!

While Wild Things are primarily a sub surface lure, they also are deadly on the surface using a technique known as bumping. Bumping requires careful attention by the angler, working the blades of the Wild Thing just under the surface to create a sub surface wake, before allowing the blades to sink deeper and allowing the wake to disappear before re-establishing the wake and repeating. When the fish are working the surface, reach for a Wild Thing.

Wild Things are best used with braided line and graphite rods where the Wild Things contact with structure and fish is relayed back to the angler.

When you’re serious about catching fish, tie on a Wild Thing!
